Kings Hill Carpentry & Flooring Terms and Conditions

1. Introduction

Welcome to Kings Hill Carpentry & Flooring. By engaging our services, you agree to comply with and be bound by the following Terms and Conditions. Please read them carefully before confirming any work.

2. Definitions

  • Client: The individual or business purchasing Services from Kings Hill Carpentry.

  • Company: Kings Hill Carpentry & Flooring, registered in the UK.

  • Services: Carpentry and joinery services provided by the Company.

  • Agreement: The contract between the Client and the Company, incorporating these Terms and Conditions.

3. Services

3.1. The Company offers a range of carpentry and joinery services, including but not limited to flooring, 1st & 2nd fix carpentry, bespoke furniture, decking, and timber structures.

3.2. The Company will perform the Services with reasonable care, skill, and in line with industry standards.

3.3. All descriptions, drawings, and specifications are for illustrative purposes only and may be subject to reasonable variation.

4. Quotations and Pricing

4.1. All quotations are valid for 7 days from the date of issue.

4.2. The Company reserves the right to amend quotations if the Client’s requirements change.

4.3. Prices are inclusive of VAT unless otherwise stated.

5. Payment

5.1. Deposit: A 50% non-refundable deposit is required to secure a booking. The deposit must be paid within 24 hours of the quote being accepted. If payment is not received within this timeframe, the proposed booking dates may be released and offered to other clients.

5.2. Balance: The remaining balance is due upon completion of the Services, unless otherwise agreed in writing. The final invoice must be paid within 24 hours of being issued.

5.3. Methods: Payments can be made via BACS. Card payments are available but are subject to additional processing fees.

5.4. Late Payments: The Company reserves the right to charge interest on overdue balances at 4% above the Bank of England base rate. If payment is more than 48 hours overdue, the Company also reserves the right to apply statutory late payment compensation fees and reasonable recovery costs, in line with the Late Payment of Commercial Debts (Interest) Act 1998.

6. Client Responsibilities

6.1. The Client must provide accurate information and ensure clear access to the site where Services are to be performed. Work areas must be prepared and cleared prior to commencement. Failure to do so may cause delay or incur additional charges.

6.2. The Client must ensure the site is safe, secure, and free from hazards.

6.3. The Client is responsible for obtaining all required consents and permissions (including planning approval, where necessary). If plans are not provided on time, the Company will proceed with those agreed with the Client, and the Company shall not be liable for alterations required as a result.

7. Changes and Cancellations

7.1. Requests to change Services must be made in writing at the earliest opportunity.

7.2. The Company will use reasonable efforts to accommodate changes but reserves the right to charge for additional costs incurred.

7.3. If the Client cancels less than 7 days before the agreed start date, the Company reserves the right to retain the deposit.

8. Liability

8.1. The Company accepts no liability for indirect, special, or consequential loss or damage arising from the Services.

8.2. The Company’s total liability for any claim shall not exceed the total price paid by the Client for the Services.

8.3. Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence.

9. Warranty

9.1. The Company provides a 365-day workmanship warranty. This does not cover materials, which remain under the manufacturer’s warranty.

9.2. The warranty will be void if any alteration, repair, or addition is carried out by the Client or a third party without the Company’s written consent.

10. Termination

10.1. The Company may terminate the Agreement if the Client fails to make payments when due or breaches these Terms and Conditions.

10.2. Upon termination, the Client must pay for all Services provided up to the date of termination.

11. Dispute Resolution

11.1. Any disputes will first be addressed amicably through negotiation.

11.2. If unresolved within 30 days, either party may refer the matter to mediation before pursuing legal action.

12. Governing Law

These Terms and Conditions are governed by the laws of England and Wales. Any disputes shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.

13. Amendments

The Company reserves the right to amend these Terms and Conditions at any time. Clients will be notified of any updates, and the latest version will always be available on the Company’s website.
